Pakistan is a developing country and many of the big development projects has been completed are on their way to be completed. The paper work for some developmental projects is on the way like Karachi Metro Bus and Karachi Circular Railway are the upcoming projects.
To facilitate more than 17 million population of Karachi City, Pakistan Railway is working on a project that will provide the affordable Transportation facility to the residents of Karachi. The File work has been completed and Pakistan Railway will invite the Japanese Technical and Legal consultants in next month as well.
The total project cost is estimated at 2.6 Trillion PKR and will be completed with the help of Japanese Organization JICA Japan International Cooperation Agency. JICA will provide the interest free loan to Pakistan Government for this project.
The 60% shares of project will be held by Pakistan Railways, 25% shares will be held by Government of Sindh and rest of shares for City District Government. According to the project, the 50 KM long Railway tracks are part of project. The Train will stop on 23 modern stations and after every 3 minutes a train will reached on the station to provide the inter city transportation to the Karachi residents. A total number of 0.7 million passengers will travel via 246 trains on daily basis.
