Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) has got permission to be opened officially for the public from 20th March 2020. This project was launched in the government of PML-N while the work started in 2017 which is finally heading towards the end. Now, the recent leadership is going to inaugurate it for people.
It is a great addition to the infrastructure of Pakistan which will reduce the distance between the main cities of Pakistan to make them closer. This 91.5 km long motorway with 4 lanes and is excellently planned by the authorities. It allows people to travel between Sialkot and Lahore easily from the eastern routes of Pakistan however it includes 7 interchanges, 18 underpasses, 7 flyovers, and 20 bridges.
The first section of M-11 starts from Kala Shah Kaku and ends to Muridke and the development work in this section is completed. It is all ready for travel from 30th March 2020 after the official inauguration of the project by the authorities.
This section consists of 22 KM of the total 91 KM however the rest of 69 KM will also be opened soon for traveling as the working is going at a fast pace. The authorities are determined not to delay this project more and have ordered to complete the construction work in the remaining part of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway.
According to the latest update, after the completion of this project, one can cover the distance between Lahore-Sialkot in just 50 minutes however this will decrease the traffic burden on other roads as well. From GT road, the time of traveling between these two cities is up to 3 hours and now with M-11, the distance is remarkably decreasing.
The project costs almost 44 Billion Rs while 2 universities and 3 industrial zones are also the part of this project along Sialkot’s route. This increases the worth and importance of this infrastructural development.
The construction in all the parts of this project is at the final stages and after which people can gain numerous traveling and trading benefits. It goes hand in hand with GT Road Lahore while covers Gujranwala, Kamoki, Sambrial, Daska.
A lot of money, various sources and time can be saved through M-11 and it will surely save million rupees. This route will also be helpful from the business point of view as the trading between Lahore and Sialkot will become faster and convenient than the past.
So, you can travel on 22km section from 22 March 2020 however the whole Lahore Islamabad Motorway project is expected to be completed in June 2020.
