Previously, Government of Punjab focuses on urban areas, as the development projects were mostly belong to metropolitan areas of Punjab. More specifically, the critics of Punjab Government blamed that Punjab Government only focuses the Lahore for Development resulting in hyper transfer and migration of population from rural areas to urban areas.
To stop speedy migration towards urban civilization, Punjab government has initiated development process for rural areas. The project features the construction and rehabilitation of roads that will connect villages with cities. In first phase of construction and rehabilitation of roads, Government of Punjab will spend 15 billion rupees for more than 2000 KM roads.
CM Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has already inaugurated the project, which features the following key elements:
The Project will improve the travelling situations for residents of rural areas
Proper roads will save fuel and vehicle maintenance expenses
People can cover the distance timely
Easy and short access to resource, i.e. animal market, agriculture fields, agriculture centers
Minimum 12 feet wide roads
This Project will not only improve the life style of rural people, but will also increase the savings of individuals and will further lead to productivity.
