Allama Iqbal Town is also known as Iqbal Town and is one of the oldest localities in Lahore. It was constructed in the late ’70s and has been densely populated as a mixed settlement of residential as well as commercial structures. It has now become a well established locality for living.

Allama Iqbal Town is located on the south-west side of Lahore. It is located on the southern boundaries of Multan Road and Wahdat Road. These roads are known to be the main Roads in Lahore. Wahdat Colony, Samanabad, and Ichhra surround it from the side. Because of its central position and good transport links, it is favored by clients and investors.

Some of the residential zones that the locality is divided into include Umer Block, Karim Block, Kashmir Block, Gulshan Block, and Nizam Block. These blocks have been thoughtfully designed to include parks, schools, and mosques in the center.

From the commercial side, Karim and Moon Market are among the busy commercial hubs of the city with a densely populated commercial zone. These commercial areas includes variety of shops and services.

Gulshan Iqbal Park is known to be one of the largest and most visited parks in Lahore and one of the main attractions of Allama Iqbal Town. It was inaugurated in April of 1982 and has since then it has been a place of recreation for the residents of Iqbal Town. It is especially busy during the weekends and in the evening time.

Development & Infrastructure

The Allama Iqbal Town area is fully developed and self contained, meaning that it has its own set of fully developed and nicely paved roads with a good and strong community. Seeing the Main Boulevard is one of the landmarks of urban design as it is surrounded by shopping malls and other places, like restaurants and banks. Because of all of this, the area is one of the most coveted places in Lahore.
